Comcast update!

I thought it only fair if I updated the internet on how our recent Comcast woes have been remedied.  One might recall from this post, that our internet sucked.  A very friendly service repair guy came out to our house and did extended tests to both the inside router/computer setup and outside to the box.  He found several things that made our connection slow: water damaged wire outside, squirrel chewed connections etc.  So, he replaced everything outside!  Everything was working perfectly.

Except hours later when the internet went out again.  Another call to a customer service rep at corporate (whose number I got through the representative who contacted me via this blog) and we had the same super friendly service guy come out.  He ran more speed tests and then decided to replace the cable modem.

Voila!  The internet has not gone out once since!  Totally fantastic.  Basically what I’ve learned is that the lower level reps (i.e. tier 1 tech support slaves) are TERRIBLE.  They have difficult accents or they’re patronizing or they’re stupid or some evil combination of those three.  However, if you can get a hold of someone who “cares” a little higher up from a corporate office, you’re golden.  Finally, people will actually help you without treating you like an idiot.  :D
